A dangerous condition. A serious injury. What comes next?
Property owners are responsible for keeping their premises reasonably safe. We investigate the condition, the owner's knowledge of it, and the evidence that connects it to your injury.
How we build a premises liability case.
The condition itself.
We work to identify exactly what made the property unsafe, a spill, poor lighting, an uneven surface, a missing handrail, and how it contributed to your fall.
Inspections and maintenance records.
We look for whether the owner inspected or maintained the property and whether the hazard should have been found and fixed.
Prior complaints.
Earlier reports of the same condition can show the owner knew, or should have known, about the danger before you were hurt.
Photographs and surveillance.
Scene photos and security video often disappear quickly. We help preserve them before they are overwritten or discarded.
When fault is disputed.
Property owners often blame the person who fell. We evaluate comparative fault and frame the facts that show the owner's responsibility.
Evidence that matters in a fall case.
Premises evidence fades fast. These are the items that tend to make or break a claim.
- Photos of the condition taken as soon as possible, lighting, spills, uneven surfaces, missing handrails
- The exact location, date, and time of the fall
- Names or descriptions of employees or managers you spoke with
- Contact information for anyone who saw it happen
- Any incident report the business asked you to sign or filed itself
- The shoes and clothing you wore, keep them, do not clean them
- Medical records from every provider who treats your injuries
Don't have everything? That's okay. Bring what you have, and we can help you identify the rest.
From inquiry to first conversation.
We review your note.
An attorney reads what you sent, usually within one business day.
We talk it through.
We contact you the way you asked and walk through where and how it happened.
We decide together.
If we can help, we explain next steps and what representation costs. If not, we tell you honestly.
Tell us what happened. We'll tell you what's next.
Tell us where you fell and what hurt you. A few sentences are enough to start.
